These terms of use govern your visit to yesid.dev, the portfolio and contact site of Yesid Fernando Otalora, a freelance digital-infrastructure consultant operating as a sole proprietor in Quebec, Canada. By using this site, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.

What this site is#

yesid.dev is a portfolio and information site. It presents my consulting work in databases and SQL, data pipelines and automation, dashboards and analytics, and websites and e-commerce, and it gives you ways to contact me. Nothing is sold directly on the site: there is no checkout, no user account, no subscription.

Any consulting engagement is governed by a separate written agreement between you (or your organization) and me. These terms apply to the website only; they do not create a professional or contractual relationship for consulting services.

Intellectual property#

Unless indicated otherwise, the content of this site, including its text, images, visual design, and the site's own source code, belongs to me. You may read it, link to it, and quote brief excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial portions, or use the content commercially, without my prior written permission.

Some projects presented here are open source. Their code lives in its own repositories and is distributed under the license stated in each repository. Those licenses, not these terms, govern your use of that code.

Acceptable use#

You agree to use this site lawfully and reasonably. In particular, you agree not to:

  • attempt to disrupt, overload, or attack the site or the infrastructure that serves it;
  • scrape or harvest content in a way that burdens the site or ignores its published limits;
  • misrepresent your identity when contacting me, or use the contact channels to send unlawful, deceptive, or abusive messages.

No warranty#

This site and its content are provided as-is, for general information. I work to keep the information accurate and current, but I do not guarantee that it is complete, error-free, or available at all times. Where a demo or dashboard is labeled as simulated, the data shown is illustrative, not real.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. Advice tailored to your situation is only provided once we are engaged under a written agreement.

Limitation of liability#

To the extent permitted by applicable law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of Quebec.

This site links to services I do not control, such as GitHub, LinkedIn, and cal.com. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, which apply when you use them. I am not responsible for their content or conduct.

Governing law#

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada. Subject to any rule of public order that grants you a different forum, disputes relating to this site will be brought before the competent courts of the judicial district of Montreal.

Changes#

I may update these terms from time to time, for example when the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page indicates the current version. If you keep using the site after an update, the updated terms apply to you.
